I saw these on the net somewhere, unfortunately I can’t remember where but it doesn’t matter as I preferred them a little bit different!!!. I tried to follow the tutorial but it ended up with a fold across the bottom and I decided that I would like to try to make them with an unfolded base so that they could be used for a little note…and I’m a bit of a perfectionist like that!
I started with a 12 inch square piece of scrapbooking paper, but you could use any size as long as it’s square. First fold into three both horizontally and vertically.
Take each corner and fold each only up to the first fold.
Take the bottom right corner and bring over to the left starting to fold at the left most fold like this. Work around each corner and do the same.
Take the middle square on each side and again only fold up to the first fold. This is working to preserves the middle square which becomes the base.
When you fold this middle square make sure that the fold goes the same way for each middle square. My fold goes from bottom left to top right…Like this…
If you look at the bottom row of three squares; each corner is folded from the outside corner to the inside and the middle square is folded from the bottom left to the top right. Each side when you look at it should be the same. See how the middle square is unfolded??? ahhhh success…ahem…now lets fold it up into the gorgeous little square pillows above.
Take the corner folds and pinch them so that they fold up towards you and take the middle square fold and pinch it so that it folds down.
Here’s the tricky (fun!!!) bit. Ha! (Here’s a tip…follow my hands in the photos…it’s worth it!)
Take opposite corners and bring the corners together in each hand.
Take each folder corner and turn your left hand away from you and your right hand towards you.
The other opposite corners will fold at the same time.
Start with one corner and fold into the square
Take the next corner to the left and fold over the one which is already folded.
Keep going around to the left and when you get to the last corner; fold it under the first corner.
Then I couldn’t stop…so I did about 5!!! I’ll plan to make a few with Miss S over the school holidays, perhaps she can use for little notes to friends.
When you make some…pop back and let me know.
